Acolyte/Usher Schedule

Youth and children third grade and up are invited to serve as acolytes and crucifers in our worship services.

The assignments for acolytes and crucifers are in place from September through June.  The schedule is generally done in three month blocks so that if a particular Sunday does not work with the family's schedule, switches can be made with others on the list.

Basically, the acolyte is responsible for lighting the altar candles and other candles used in the worship service, and then extinguishing them at the end of the service.  The crucifer walks in ahead of the choir, carrying the cross at the beginning and the end of the service.

Training for those volunteering for these duties take place at the beginning of the church school year in September.
