Prayer requests will be included in Sunday worship. If you would like to have a person added to the prayer list in the Sunday bulletin, please call the church office at (607) 432-4102 or fill out the prayer request form below. For privacy reasons, please be sure that you have the permission of the individual to add their name to this listing. Please also mention the approximate amount of time you would like to have this person's name on the list.
Oneonta's First UMC Prayer Ministry
We offer a confidential prayer ministry for those with special needs. Contact should be made by either calling the church office at (607) 432-4102 and asking to speak to the secretary, or by filling out the prayer request form below and checking the appropriate box. Requests are passed along to the coordinator of the prayer chain, who sends an electronic request to that group of individuals and makes phone calls to other participants who do not use computers. Although we like to have some details about the request for prayers, it can be as simple as a first name and the statement that the person is ill, or is job hunting, or needs help through a difficult time. When the request is for a limited time, it is good to specify that information.
We have seen some amazing results of the effect of prayer, and those who offer to participate in this ministry are sincere in their belief that prayer is effective. We acknowledge that we do not always know what the result will be, but we believe that every prayer is answered.
