We begin our journey through Lent by learning about the link between the lament and act of repentance. In the wake of betraying his God and his people, David laments on his separation from the love of God. We know all too well what that separation feels like. We know the aches and pains of life, the what-ifs and the never-will-bes. And yet we also know God as a reconciler, a healer of broken things and broken lives.
