Director of Music Ministries: John C. Jurgensen

Music is an important part of worship here at FUMC, Oneonta. Our Sanctuary Choir sings regularly at our 10:30 am services, and offer a diverse range of music from chant to gospel. They rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:15-8:30 pm. Membership is open to middle school students through adults. Even if you can sing only a few Sundays out of the year, you're more than welcome to join us!

At Sunday evening services (as well as some special morning services throughout the year), our contemporary music is led by CrossFire. These worship leaders consist of youth and adults.

The handbell teams are members of the Handbell Musicians of America (formerly the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, Inc.), and have participated in National, International, and Area II Handbell Festivals in the Eastern United States and Canada. All of our teams are open to the general community. Please go to our Handbell Teams page for a full description of each team.

Our Brass Ensemble plays a few times through the year (Christmas Concert, Christmas Eve, and Easter). This group is made up of mainly high school students, but adults are also welcome.

If you play an instrument, we'd love to know about it. There is a sign-up sheet in the church office.
