How does our faith speak to the challenges and opportunities of today's world? How do Christians thoughtfully engage issues such as community life, creation care, economic justice, human dignity, and peace? Beginning in September, we invite you to join us for an engaging study of the United Methodist Social Principles.

The Social Principles are the United Methodist Church's prayerful reflection on how we live out our faith in the world. They offer guidance on a wide range of topics and help us think faithfully about the relationships between our beliefs and our daily lives.

Whether you are familiar with the Social Principles or have never read them before, this study is for you. In 2024, the General Conference adopted a major revision and restructuring of the Social Principles, making them more accessible, easier to navigate, and more clearly grounded in Scripture and theology. If you've participated in a Social Principles study in the past, this is an excellent opportunity to revisit them with fresh eyes and explore what has changed.

The study will be offered both in person and online via Zoom, making it easy to participate even if you’re not local to Oneonta.

Together, we'll explore how our Wesleyan faith calls us to love God, love our neighbors, and engage the world with grace, compassion, and justice. We hope you'll join us for this meaningful conversation as we seek to grow in faith and discipleship together.
